Regalia for the 2017 ceremony is now available for ordering via Herff Jones, the official vendor for TCSPP. All regalia will be billed and shipped directly to you from Herff Jones. The deadline to place regalia orders online is Sunday, September 10th. Any orders placed after this date are subject to additional processing and shipping fees.
Please note: All regalia purchases are final sale. If you petitioned to walk short degree requirements, we encourage you to wait for approval to participate prior to ordering.
Bachelor's Regalia: $24.50 plus shipping and applicable taxes
- The bachelor's set includes the cap, gown, and tassel (white).
Master's Regalia: $52.40 plus shipping and applicable taxes
- The master's set includes the cap, gown, tassel (black), and hood (white).
Doctoral Regalia: $75.65 plus shipping and applicable taxes
- The doctoral set includes the tam (cap), gown, tassel (gold), and hood (dark blue)

Question: Am I eligible to participate in the 2017 Commencement ceremony?
You are eligible to participate in Commencement if:
You completed a degree program in Spring 2017 or Summer 2017 and have not walked in a previous Chicago School commencement ceremony.
You have filed the online Intent to Participate in Commencement Form.
You anticipate graduating in Fall 2017 and indicate on the Intent to Participate in Commencement form which requirements you have remaining with an estimated completion date. Your academic department will determine your eligibility to participate in the ceremony and notify you by mid-August.
Question: What Commencement deadlines do I have to meet?
The deadline to submit the Intent to Participate in Commencement form is Tuesday, August 1st.
Order regalia by Sunday, September 10th.
Question: Are tickets required for the ceremony?
No, seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.
Question: Will I receive academic honors at graduation or on my diploma and transcript?
If you are eligible for honors, it will be noted on your official transcript.
Question: May I walk for more than one degree?
If you are completing two degree programs in one academic year, you may only be recognized during commencement in one-degree program, but your name will be listed in the commencement bulletin for both degrees assuming you have filed all required paperwork. You may walk only one time per degree earned, so, if you have participated in a commencement ceremony already, you may not do so again.
Question: What should I expect on the day of the ceremony?
Ceremony participants must check-in in the S7 Room beneath the Terrace Theater starting at 9:00am. Line up for the ceremony will occur promptly at 10:20am, and the ceremony will begin promptly at 11am. The ceremony will last for approximately for 2 hours.
Self-pay parking is available in lots public parking lots around the venue. Please budget time for locating parking and traveling to the venue. The lobby doors will open at 9:30am and seating for the theater will open at 10:00am, and all guests must wait in the lobby until the theater doors open. Please leave all personal belongings with your guests.
Leave early – Southern California is infamous for traffic. Map out your route in advance, and add 30 minutes or more to allow for rush hour traffic.
Pick a meeting place – It's hard to find your family and friends among a sea of people. Familiarize yourself with the area around the Terrace Theater and pick a place to meet your guests once the ceremony is over.
Be patient and flexible – Commencement will last approximately 2 hours. If you are planning celebrations/lunch reservations after the event, be aware the ceremony could end earlier or later than the scheduled time.
